The Cocoa Beach Planning Board approved a measure that would require businesses to be separated by more than 2,000 feet and limited to certain regions, a movement which follows the efforts in recent years to make the city more family oriented beach destination. The board voted 4-1, with Carpenter Newton voted against the measure. The draft ordinance is approved by the Commission of the City of two public hearings before being implemented. Store owners said they were not against the rules. They just want the city to honor their rights to be in business. "I think it is an old school mentality of tattoos," said Eli Tobias, owner of Black Chapel Tattoo Studio. "In this day and age, are an expression." In recent years, the city has been using computers to try to present a more family-friendly beach and the calm of the turbulent audience, at times, met in the city center. # In 2005, the Commission has prohibited the city from the beach drums following complaints about out-of-town revelers carry with them along a large cooler. # In 2007, the Commission has prohibited the interior of the beach, in an effort to mitigate what he said, the weekends are increasingly rowdy parties. # In recent years, the Committee also considered banning smoking on the beach, but not when the measure before the electorate in a referendum. Now the city wants to restrict tattooing and body piercing, wrongly, the owners are associated with a noisy audience. Mia Jordan has a tattoo a week ago. On Sunday, he had a spider web and the ink on the ankle. On Monday, he was again at the Black Chapel, considering another tattoo. "I like art," he says. Owner says more and more people have tattoos, as evidenced by the fact that nothing is missing for six studies in business in Cocoa Beach. There are three in just over two blocks in the city center and three others in the area of Route 520 and State Road A1A. Cocoa Beach Planning Board Chairman Robert Dance assured the audience is not the intention of forcing anyone out of business, but steady. "It is established that is," he said. Mark Longenecker, who owns Endless Summer Tattoo Studio, said he was not against the law requiring the separation of 2000 feet, but is more your type of business that was subject to tighter regulation. Companies can apply for an exception inside the distance. Board member Ben Malik said that the measure is part of the city's plan to create a community which includes the remodeling of downtown. The city wants to clean the burn, "he says. "The city has a plan to revitalize the downtown," said Malik. "It's the idea." Carpenter, who voted against the measure, Cocoa Beach has no people shouted in support of a large number of tattoo studios, what they saw as unnecessary regulation. "I do not think we need the order," he said. "I do not think there is a problem."
